This thesis presents the adjustment of the Rural development national strategy plan 2007-2013, the Rural development programme for the period 2007 - 2013 and the Resolution on National forest programme. The first part of the thesis shows the Rural development national strategy plan and its view on forest issues. The second part compares the measures and goals between the Rural development programme and the Resolution on National forest programme, which include forest issues. In the last part of the thesis, the Resolution onNational forest programme and its view on rural development issues, is presented. This thesis is designed for stakeholders, who participate in the implementation of forest and rural development policy. It may also be useful for policy makers as a guide, to help them make better policies in future. The findings shows, that the adjustment, as seen from general public political viewpoint, is not very well carried out. As a result there are differences, shown in the above documents, between the forest policy and the policy of the rural development issues.
