The diploma thesis The role of the preschool teacher in the use of the pedagogical method of stimulation in preschool consists of the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part describes the pedagogical styles, the definition of education of the past and present time and the pedagogical methods. The thesis also describes the permissive or positive pedagogical method of stimulation, that is devided into positive pedagogical means (encouragement, praise, reward and promise). The role of the preschool teacher, using the method of stimulation, is described in detail – through the positive pedagogical means. The stimulation method has a positive effect on child's confidence and also a positive effect on creating an encouraging and warm environment in the kindergarten department. It is important, that preschool teachers use the method of stimulation, because that way they create a positive environment, that makes children feel accepted.
In the practical part of the diploma thesis we presented the results of the concluded interviews with female preschool teachers, in connection with the role of the preschool teacher, who is using the pedagogical method of stimulation. The findings of three reasearch questions are presented – they include the advantages and disadvantages of the method of stimulation that preschool teachers use in their work, the frequency of use of the mentioned method, and the situations in which the teachers use the method of stimulation. We also presented the opinion of preschool teachers regarding the importance of using the stimulation method in pedagogical work. All findings are connected and supported by the literature from the theoretical work. Based on the results, we can conclude that both advantages and disadvantages of the pedagogical method of stimulation can be detected in educational work and that the pedagogical method of stimulation is one of the more frequently used methods in pedagogical work in kindergarten.
