The production of goods has been developing rapidly since the industrial revolution,
nowadays the most important influence is the development of computers and technology that
enables automation. At the same time, production planning is also developing, which
represents an important part of the manufacturer’s operation, as it affects the profit. The plan
must meet all customer order needs and management objectives. The Advanced Planning and
Scheduling (APS) application helps solve this complex challenge. Regardless of its potential,
some target users refuse to use it. Because we would like to better understand them, we will
investigate what affects them in this master's thesis. In the research, we checked the influence
of the universal constructs of the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology
(UTAUT) and two additional constructs, which are job insecurity and anxiety. The results
show that intention to use is influenced by concern and perceived performance. The results of
the research are useful to all manufacturing companies that decide to introduce a planning
system into their information system. It helps them better understand what influences the
success of APS technology adoption.
