In my Master's thesis, I aim to present the school's relationship with the local environment and the many actors, institutionalised or not, as individuals. In particular, I explore the influence of these actors on the planning and implementation of the glocalised elements of the extra curricula activities. The theoretical part presents three strands, namely globalisation and glocalisation and their presence in the school curriculum, followed by a section on educational policy and the school system in Slovenia, where the extra curricula is explained in detail. The last part demonstrates, through theories and studies, the relationship between the school and the local environment and the functioning of the school in the local environment and vice versa. Two examples, of elective courses where teachers collaborate with external actors, are illustrated in the empirical part. I collected data through in-depth semi-structured interviews. The two collaborations are different, but similar conclusions can be drawn, which ultimately help to explain the research question What role do local actors play in the integration of glocal content?. The aim of the research is to find answers regarding the participation of external actors in glocalisation contents. Examples of questions that arise in the course of the research are: who proposes the participation, how it takes place, whether the lectured content is adapted to external actors, which circumstances influence the success of the participation, how the participants perceive the participation, i.e. its advantages, disadvantages and obstacles. Finally, I try to link the empirical data to the reviewed literature and answer the question posed. In the end, I conclude that local actors, among all others, have a major role to play in the integration of glocal content, as well as in its design and implementation. However, local actors are not the only ones who influence this content. The master thesis goes into more detail about the circumstances that influence the (un)success of the cooperation, its longevity, interest and more.
