Terminology shows the strength and the development of the specific language of each discipline, including pharmacy. The basis of Slovenian pharmaceutical terminology was provided in the 1970s by the translation of the Pharmacopoeia Jugoslavica and by the booklet Standard Pharmaceutical Technological Terms. The creation and the development of Slovenian pharmaceutical terminology was followed by the elaboration of the Slovenian National Formulary to the European Pharmacopoeia (Formularium Slovenicum), the 2nd Edition (FS 2.0) of which was published this year. This includes an English-Slovenian glossary of pharmaceutical terms and represents one of the foundations for an ambitious project for the creation of a pharmaceutical dictionary, which could meet the needs of Slovene pharmaceutical terminology.
