The diploma thesis describes the process of logo design and packaging design for a confectionary company in the making. The purpose of the task is to build the company's identity and transfer principles and personality to product design, along with the production of packaging that is suitable for the activity. The work was carried out based on market research and client preferences, it consists of theoretical part, experimental part and results.
In the theoretical part, defined concepts that are related to packaging, its functions, types and how it affects the environment. The importance of food packaging, what are the regulations and what is its role are also specifically defined. Later, the design of the packaging is highlighted, which has an extraordinary importance in terms of sales of the product itself. At the end of the theoretical part, there is an analysis of the market, on which the product design was based.
The experimental part is focused on packaging manufacturing processes and the selection of suitable material. At the beginning, there was communication with the client, in the desire for the most appropriately designed product that would be suitable for the company and their needs. The logo and overall graphic image were created. This was followed by the process of designing and drawing the packaging in the Adobe Illustrator program. Later, there was the trial printing and the process of making the packaging itself, i.e. placing it on the pole, cutting, assembly and printing. In the last part, the layout and design of the packaging is presented.
The result of the diploma thesis is a complete graphic image for the emerging company and a series of three packages for three different confectionery products.
