The thesis examines the meaning and purpose of a subsequent evaluation in public investment building projects and describes and analyses information from surveys. This accumulated information is needed for decision-making and tests of achieved set goals of public investment projects. The investment projects of the municipality contain local interests under the mayor´s leadership and are being executed in accordance with financial, personnel and political goals. For the planning and development of new public investment projects, the results of previous such projects are needed. Those can be accumulated with the help of subsequent evaluation, which can be executed as soon as the investment is in use.
The paper involves an analysis of citizens` satisfaction toward the construction of the multipurpose building in “Center Ig”, which was built for long-term use. Two surveys were conducted at two different time periods, in 2018 and 2023. During this period, one can see the differences between the achieved goals and needs of citizens after the construction of the building “Center Ig”. Up until now there has not been a subsequent evaluation of a public investment project, therefore the thesis contributes its part to the municipality for the overview and analysis of received information of the socially useful investment. This also contributes to a better approach in the municipality´s steps toward planning and executing new buildings in public use.
