Slovenia has a long tradition in viticulture and has three winegrowing regions named Posavje, Podravje and Primorska. In the thesis we focused on the grape and wine production of ‘Koelner Blau’ in Dolenjska winegrowing district. We have collected and studied data on the ‘Koelner Blau’ production in the Dolenjska winegrowing district to understand the success of the ’Koelner Blau’ production, its differences in the quality of the grape in the last decade. Data of the grape quality for the period 2012-2022 was obtained from the archives of the Agricultural and Forestry Institute of Novo mesto, while the wine data from the Bakhus database managed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food. The average weight of 100 berries of ‘Koelner Blau’ variety was 241 g, at ripening stage the grape reached an average total sugar content o71 °Oe, 8.6 g/l of total acidity and an average pH of 3.08. Koelner Blau wine contained an average of 10.8 vol. % alcohol, 31.4 g/l of total extract, 6.7 g/l of total acidity and an average pH 3.09. In sensory evaluation, the wine was evaluated with an average of 17.09 points. According to the obtained data of ‘Koelner Blau’ variety in the period 2012-2022 we can conclude that the interests for the variety declined.
