The graduation thesis presents natural characteristics of the upper Soča holiday camps area, on the basis of studies and field survey. According to thedescriptions and field surveys the erosion hazard for all types of erosion was estimated. The measures to decrease the erosion processes and to enhance the visitor safety are proposed. The author estimates that nine camps are situated on safe locations where no greater protection measures are necessary. In eihgt cases, however, intensive erosion processes can occur, threatening campsites and their facilities, visitors and their posessions. Campsites are threatened mostly by rockfall and torrent erosion, while snow avalanches and landslides do not present a considerable threat, namely that ofbarraging. Protection measures of the most endangered campsites are very demanding and impossible to be performed by camp owners.
