This is a thesis on the renovation of the Castle of Socerb. Its first mention dates back to the 13th century and has changed its appearance several times during its existence, until today, where only the remains of a once important Venetian fortress have remained on the cliff of the Karst edge (Kraški rob). Our ancestors left us with an extensive archival material, which testifies to the importance of this part of Kraški rob, its rich archaeological finds, peasants' life close to the castle, religious legends, conflicts during the World War II and, last but not least, the history, development and collapse of the medieval complex. Due to the numerous natural and cultural attractions, the master thesis also aims to revitalize its immediate surroundings, the Istrian-Karst village of Socerb, the area of the former outer ward, the holy cave of Sveta jama and the remains of the military caravel which form an inseparable historical identity with the Castle of Socerb.
