Present master's thesis examines the assessment of compensation in cases of bodily injury or impaired health. The fundamental article governing the topic is Article 174 of the Slovenian Civil Code. In the master's thesis that follows the structure of the discussed article, certain issues that arise in practice regarding the assessment of compensation are primarily presented through the prism of case law. Initially master's thesis provides an overview of general concept of pecuniary damage in relation to pecuniary damage relating to cases of personal injury or impaired health. The main part focuses on the enforcement of claims and the associated issue of limitation periods, followed by a specific presentation of types of damages that occur in cases of bodily injury or impaired health, as well as aspects which are to be considered in the assessment of compensation. Additionally, certain points highlight the issues concerning indirect victims. The final part addresses the cases of future damages that are governed by the second paragraph of the discussed article.
