The thesis examines the town of Kranj in the 16th and 17th centuries, focusing on its cultural, social and architectural image. The aim of the thesis is to reveal the overall image of the city in the historical period under consideration. Special attention is also paid to the Town hall, which at this time has established itself as a symbol of the city's identity. The thesis focuses in detail on its external architectural appearance, its internal spatial arrangement and the role of the Town hall in the city centre itself. The research methodologies used are based on a study of existing literature. By analysing different aspects of Kranj, this thesis aims to contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the history of Kranj and its important position in the broader historical context.
