The paper presents language consultants' approach to speech interpretation of Hodnik (The Corridor), a dramatic text written by Matjaž Zupančič, in two stagings: (a) a professional one and (b) a student version. The topic, a TV-reality show, motivated a rather unusual choice of language registers in both cases, i. e. the personal idiolects of performers, rather than the usual social varieties of language. Thus a performative component was introduced, which is a sign of the contemporary paradigm in language consulting in the theatre.
