In my thesis, I researched the view of social work education by mentors at social work centers. Through the introductory, theoretical part, I briefly present the history of social work education, the development of the study program and the establishment of the Faculty of Social Work as we know it today. I also touch on the topic of practical training as the most important element of education, the center for social work as a learning base and present the importance of mentoring. The aim of the research was to determine the opinion of mentors at social work centers regarding social work education as persons who themselves have gone through the learning process and now work as practical teachers. , because as part of this they were or still are in a dual role as someone who was part of the study process as a student and now as a mentor. I chose the Center for Social Work because I believe that, despite the negative views of the public, it represents a central learning base for social work, where it is possible to gain direct and irreplaceable life experience. I used qualitative research and obtained data from seven interlocutors from different centers for social work with the help of semi-structured interviews. The measuring instrument with which I conducted my research was the interview guide, in which I divided the questions according to five main topics (education for social work, competences in social work, practical training in social work, social work center as a learning base and mentoring in social work). I analyzed the obtained data qualitatively and wrote down the results, based on which I formulated proposals for the possible improvement of the composition of the educational system curriculum or the program of education for social work and the organization of mentoring in social work.
