Autobiographical texts are one of the oldest forms of human cultural tradition. As elsewhere, they are attracting increased attention in the Slovene cultural and linguistic area and are becoming a common research topic in the humanities and other fields of research. However, the interdisciplinaryexchange and dissemination of knowledge still seems to be in its infancy. Thus the opportunities for uniting the rather dispersed activities into a profiled interdisciplinary field of research have to be reconsidered, for example by the foundation of a database which would compriseand offer to the public the main areas of Slovene autobiographical culture.
