The aim of the thesis is the design of a series of products used in culinary interiors, to update and revive the somewhat silenced tradition of the cultural heritage of the city of Kamnik and to recreate it in a new, more modern way. It is also possible to look at the design and development of similar products holistically and think about a possible independent brand based on sustainable approaches and timeless use in everyday life.
The theoretical part includes the presentation of two cultural heritages of my hometown, the city of Kamnik and its surroundings - the making and painting of jugs called »Majolica« and the tradition of making traditional cheese called »trnič« and its »pisave«. The brand is described in more detail. Its main characteristics, stages of development and its creation from conception to establishment on the market are also presented. In the theoretical part of the thesis, sustainable design and the importance of designing timeless products are discussed The last part of the theoretical part covers the presentation of the Scandinavian way of design, its characteristic style and the presentation of three important Finnish brands.
In the creative part, a collection of products is presented, which was created by combining the cultural heritage of Kamnik and the Scandinavian way of design. In this part, a newly created brand is presented, which will present the products to people. The elements of its graphic image, ways of promotion, the way of communicating with the market, the target group, its vision and mission are discussed.
