The traceability of components is crucial for the success of the company. ERP and PLM information systems have an important role in ensuring successful traceability. The company manufactures a large number of smaller components that are part of more complex assemblies, which often have to change due to changes in the market or customer requirements. The problem arises, when it is necessary to make changes to smaller components, but due to poor traceability, it is unknown, if the change has been already made. In order to obtain up-to-date information, it is necessary to measure and check the components. As a result, the company realizes that the only solution is introduction of a traceability system that will ensure control over the components. In the Master's thesis is described the traceability implementation model, which company must follow in order to successfully implement the system. Within the model, we described existing and desired state, and analysed different types of traceability and labelling technologies. Based on the analysis, we proposed a traceability system that would represent a solution for the company in ensuring the traceability of components. We estimate that with the successful implementation of proposed traceability system, we would successfully control components and their changes. The implemented system will relieve the company's workforce, speed up processes and reduce the likelihood of errors within production.
