The Bachelor thesis covers the creation of a standard library of elements in the PDM system in order to shorten the design process of In-Wheel motors in the company. First, a new tree data structure in the PDM system was implemented and the applied standard elements were checked against current or older projects. To better control the new standard library, a library administrator was appointed and rules were defined for the use and storage of new elements or components in the form of written and video instructions for the designers. The creation of a new standard library of elements has proved to be a very good decision by the company. Positive results have been seen in the product design process, with a reduction in design time and a reduction in the number or quantity of corrections to documentation before final approval.
