The aim of the thesis was to design skincare packaging according to the principle of ecological design. The designed skincare line would be aimed at women between 20 and 30 years old. The skincare line contains six products: cleansing foam, toner, day and night cream, serum and eye cream. In doing so, six labels for primary packaging and for secondary packaging
were designed and produced.
In the experimental part, multiple pieces for secondary packaging were designed with the help
of the EngView Package and Display Designer Suite program. The final visual image of the
packaging and labels was created with Adobe Illustrator. Two primary colors were chosen for the color palette, namely pastel pink and green, which represent the main component of the entire line - the rose.
The packaging was printed and cut on 300 g/m2 cardboard using a Xerox printer and an Esko
cutter.
The market research and analysis results provided essential information for the entire production and design process, as they provided information about consumer habits in
Slovenia. Most respondents were convinced by the packaging, which adheres to an ecological design method and uses sustainable materials (wooden lids). It was also established that half of the respondents would be deterred from buying the product by an excessive amount of written information on the packaging. The result of the diploma thesis is a skincare line that focuses on ecological design and sustainable use of materials.
