The aim of this thesis was to present the basic sources of electromagnetic interference, solutions for reducing emissions and solution by an example.
I have described the sources of noise and the typical ways in which interference spreads inside electrical appliances. I summarised the internal noise sources and the noise of active devices. I offered some examples of solutions to reduce electromagnetic emissions. I described the importance of wiring, balancing circuits, filtering lines, usage of ferrite cores and shielding of circuits.
Measurements were carried out according to EN 55014-1, in the measuring chambers of Slovenian institute of quality and metrology (SIQ). I have measured the conductive and radiated emissions of a vacuum cleaner. For the conductive emissions, I have compared usage of different class x capacitors. For solution of radiated emissions, I compared different types of ferrite cores. Comparing how the placement of the ferrites and the number of turns on cores effect the measurement result.
