Gotske pravljice skozi oči fotografije

Pravljice so že od nekdaj predstavljale tisti svet, v katerem se človek za trenutek izgubi v realnosti in svet, ki nas obdaja z mistiko in temačnostjo obenem. Namen diplomske naloge je ujeti mističnost in temačnost gotskih pravljic skozi fotografski objektiv oz. na končnih fotografijah upodobiti bistvene karakterne lastnosti in simboliko treh pravljičnih junakinj iz pravljic bratov Grimm – Rdeče kapice, Sneguljčice in Trnuljčice. Pred vsakim portretnim fotografiranjem je bilo potrebno podrobneje analizirati vsako pravljično junakinjo in se poglobiti v svet gotskih pravljic. Fotografiranje je bilo izvedeno s pomočjo fotoaparata – Nikon D5600. Fotografije so bile obdelane v programih Adobe Lightroom in Adobe Photoshop, ki sta omogočila dodajanje učinkov mističnosti in temačnosti. Vsaka pravljična junakinja je predstavljena skozi štiri portretne fotografije, ki odslikavajo ključne dogodke vsake pravljice. Vsaka predstavitev fotografije zajema opis glavne junakinje, lokacije, uporabljenih pripomočkov, tehničnih lastnosti fotografije, prav tako pa vključuje opise glavnih motivov, simbolike in kompozicije. Celotna serija portretnih fotografij je ustvarila stik gotskih pravljic s sodobnim časom. Karakteristične lastnosti pravljičnih junakinj na nekaterih fotografijah nakazujejo na žensko submisivnost, šibkost in krhkost, kar se povezuje s časom gotike. Sodobnost današnjega časa pa se na fotografijah reflektira skozi sam pristop fotografiranja, ki odraža preprostost in hkrati poudarja simboliko gotskih pravljic skozi detajle in kompozicijo.

Fairy tales have always represented a world in which we can get lost in reality for a moment and a world that surrounds us with mysticism and darkness simultaneously. The purpose of the diploma thesis is to capture the mysticism and darkness of gothic fairy tales through photographic lens and visualize the essential character traits and symbolism of the three fairy tale heroines from the Brothers Grimm’s fairy tales – Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. Before each photoshoot, it was necessary to analyze each fairy tale heroine in more detail and to deepen into the world of gothic fairy tales. Photographs were taken with a camera – Nikon D5600 and edited in Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop, which added the effects of mysticism and darkness. Each fairy tale heroine is presented through four portrait photographs reflecting the key events of each fairy tale. Each photo presentation includes a interpretation of the main character, location, props, technical features of the photo, as well as descriptions of the main motifs, symbolism and composition. The entire series of portrait photographs created a contact between gothic fairy tales and modern times. In some photographs the characteristic features of the fairy tale heroines indicate female submissiveness, weakness and fragility, which are associated with the gothic period. The modernity is reflected through the photography approach, which is reflected through simplicity and at the same time emphasizes the symbolism of gothic fairy tales through details and composition.
