This thesis presents the designing and manufacturing process of a bespoke or customized engagement ring in an Art Déco style. My thesis explores the historical origins and designs of this style with specific references to key influencers and jewellery houses during this stylistic period. I describe the jewels and materials I used in the manufacturing process of the ring. In the technical component of my thesis, I summarize customer expectations and document the entire designing process with photos, which are accompanied with descriptive details. I created an inventory on how I actualized the customer’s requirements for this bespoke engagement ring, and sum up fundamentals in establishing customized wedding rings. I conclude with an evaluation listing possible areas I could improve on in the ring-making process. Using 3D printing and other state-of-the art technology, gave me further motivation for life-long learning in this field.
