In today's world, traffic jams have become an everyday problem, and of course we try to avoid them. When planning new transport infrastructure, as well as reconstruction of existing, it is necessary to meet certain criteria of functionality and permeability of intersections. It is necessary to plan as optimally and efficiently as possible, and various analytical and simulation software tools help us with this process. As part of the master's thesis, we performed a comparison of two analytical software tools, in the case of Dunajska cesta in Ljubljana. The area under consideration includes five intersections. An analysis of the capacity and efficiency of intersections was performed, where we obtained results on average delays and service levels for individual lanes, as well as for entire legs. In the last part the optimization of these five intersections was also carried out in terms of line coordination along the city artery. The analysis carried out provided key data on the comparison of the two software tools from the design and data entry to the analysis of the existing situation and the optimization of the entire network of intersections.
