In thesis I present use of programmable logical controller (PLC) in role of PID controller, which is quite common element on ships.
In introduction I briefly explained in what environments PLC is important and importance of controllers on ships.
In second part I explained theoretical basics of control, three basic types of controllers, proportional, integral and derivative controller, their advantages and how they complement each other.
In third part I described some examples of control on ships, which can be implemented with PLC controller.
Fourth part is dedicated to PLC in role of two-stages controller. In this part I described in detail the PLC program for two-stages control, results of performed experiments are presented and this is followed by discussion of results of two-stages controller.
Fifth part is dedicated to PLC in role of PID controller. In this pard I described in detail PLC program for PID control, results of performed experiments are presented and this is followed by discussion of results of PID controller.
In sixth part follows comparison of results between two-stages controller and PID controller and discussion about advantages of different controllers.
