In the past decade, virtual reality has become one of the main focuses in the field of computer visualization, enabling new ways of presenting geospatial data. Rendering virtual environments with a level of detail convincing to the user is especially challenging when rendering in a web browser. In the thesis a new method of landscape reconstruction is proposed, which uses publicly available geospatial data to visualize any selected Slovenian landscape in real time. Visualization of Slovenian landscapes in web-based virtual reality applications allows the user to explore the environment from the first-person perspective and observe its elements from different angles as though they were observing a real environment.
