The thesis addresses the issue of Globovnik landfill, where Tovarna organskih kislin (TOK) disposed by-products from 1958 to 1991. The lanfill is closed, non-compliant with regulations, non-monitored and still pollinates the Trnovšek stream, the Reka river and the Škocjan Caves system with leachate. Earth and other waste material is still being disposed on the lanfill slope. In the theoretical part, we presented the problem, identified possible remedial measures, and presented the dimensioning process. In the practical part, we determined the appropriate measures for Globovnik landfill remediation and presented the dimensioning process. The slope stability and the retention embankment were also analysed in Slide tool. We planned bank stabilization with the slope construction in suitable slope angles and berms, construction of a ditch for backwaters drainage, construction of a landfill cover with the gas drainage installation, a sealing layer, a drainage layer and a vegetation layer with grass. Drainage system construction of the cover is also planned. The storm sewerage of the waste collection centre is to be diverted. We also planned the restoration of a retention embankment. In remedial measures, we followed the requirements of the Decree on waste landfill. With the proposed measures, we envisage a reduction in the amount of leachate, a controlled degassing of the landfill and a stable slope. We expect an improvement in the Trnovšek stream condition and landfill area.
