In my thesis, I designed and illustrated the poetry collection Subiluzija by the author Žiga X Gombač. In the theoretical part, I researched the relationship between illustration and text in poetry and defined the illustration style is most suitable for describing the abstract content that appears in the poetry collection Subiluzija. I analysed three works of art and based on this analysis, justified the use of abstract illustration alongside the text.
In the practical part of the diploma thesis, I illustrated the poetry collection, explained the illustration technique used, described the process of choosing motifs and researched the relationship between poetry and text in book form. In the book design process, I treated the book as a physical object and justified my choice of font, layout of the grid and the way the book was printed and bound.
