Volunteer teaching usually doesn't include curriculums or detailed work reports. Therefore I have, after a brief definiton of main concepts (Slovene as a second language, social integration, volunteering), tried to obtain information about teaching approaches with the help of questionnaire for volunteers on Slovenska filantropija. I was mainly interested in how demanding tasks performed by the volunteers are, how their work is connected with formal forms of language teaching and examination, which study material they use, which elements of teaching they give priority to and how the theoretical model with possible roles of volunteers in migrant language education, formed in international project VIME, is realised in praxis.
