Acoustic silencers for compressed air are used in various systems where compressed air expands into the room. In the task, we compared the solutions on the existing acoustic silencer with added granular materials. We wanted to evaluate the influence of granular materials on noise reduction. We performed a series of measurements, of which we computationally evaluated. Preliminary calculations show that as the size of the granular grains decreases, the noise dampening effect develops. The most effective solution reduced the noise level by around 10 dBA. By changing the geometry of the existing silencer, its efficiency could be further optimized.
