The aim of the thesis is to design and manufacture a women's dress for standard dances.
In the theoretical part, I focused on the Standard and Latin American dances, where after studying the dress code supported by the WDSF (World Dance Sport Federation) I decided to design a dress for Standard dances that can be worn by a female dancer in the adult category, wearing a size 34.
The whole technological process of the dress production is described in the thesis, from the conceptual sketch, technical drawing, bill of materials used and the product development with the help of CAD softwear Optitex.
The experimental part shows the whole process of planning the dance dress, from the creation of the conceptual sketch of the garment, the development of cuts, the selection of suitable materials and the technological process of manufacturing the garment. The development of the pattern pieces took place in the Optitex computer program. By comparing the dress on the mannequin and on the dancer, the success of the planning and the accuracy of the whole manufacturing process were evaluated.
