Nowadays we are increasingly deciding to install automated systems that makes our lives easier. We want as many things as possible to work independently, so that we can spend our time better. Such systems also include the automation of residential heating. Fort the project I had to program a boiler room with Beckhoff PLC. The system was already built and only needed to be programmed according to the client's wishes.
The system is divided into three parts, namely sanitary water, floor and radiator heating. Both floor and radiator heating is divided into three floors. Floor heating is then controlled via valves on each floor, allowing the user to adjust the heating for each room separately. Since the radiators have thermostatic valves installed, they do not require additional control. The client wanted to be able to set the heating schedules for each floor separately and to open the floor valves manually. The client wanted to have sanitary water circulation, meaning that hot water is available immediately when a faucet is opened and no cold water is wasted while waiting for the hot one. Furthermore, the client also wanted to be able to monitor all measured and set values in the system through a touch screen and change its parameters as desired. Only in this way he will be able to set up the whole system exactly as he wants.
