The master’s thesis presents the concept and implementation of a blockchain based smart grid. Digital decentralized marketplace is a key component, enabling trading with flexibility in electricity demand. Marketplace was implemented by using smart contract in Ethereum environment. Controller and control system that automatically publishes and realizes flexibility offers were developed. The operation of the system has been tested using a domestic water heater in a residential house. The obtained results provide clear evidence that the level of users' comfort is not affected if the flexibility parameters are properly selected.
