The American Dream is a phenomenon known to people around the world. It is a label that describes the major values and ideas of American culture. Also, nowadays, the genre of superheroes is already reaching all corners of the world and the popularity of film depictions of these heroes is growing. In my dissertation, I deal with how the ideology of the American Dream is reproduced in superhero films, and I pay special attention to the character of Captain America, whose films I use to analyze this problem.
