In today's industrial world, we still encounter old machines that have been doing their job from the very beginning when they were created. These machines still do the job for which they were originally made, but due to their age and lack of functionality, they cannot compete against newer, digitized machines. Newer machines save companies time and money, but they are more expensive and are inaccesible to some companies.
This diploma thesis presents the concept for solving the problem mentioned above, namely, the realization of a system for digitalization and monitoring of old machines using different sensors. The system for digitalizing and monitoring of old machines is based on the Raspberry Pi 4 micro-computer, which uses input-output ports to which the analog-to-digital converter ADS1115 is connected to. There is also a 7-inch touchscreen display used for the user interface and a DHT22 ambient temperature sensor. A Shelly 120A current transformer, MLX90164 tool temperature sensor and ADXL345 accelometer are connected to the analog-to-digital ADS1115 converter. The part describes all the elements used, as well as the entire program code, which is intended for mathematical work, user interface and OPC UA connection between the Raspberry Pi 4 micro-computer and the database. Subseqently, a test of the system was performed on several different machines, demonstrating the pratical application and reliability of the system. During the development, there were some problems that were solved on the spot, as well as some ideas for further work that can be implemented in the future.
We want to present a cheaper solution to companies with smaller budget to enter the digitalized industrial world. The system is also intended for individuals who want to digitize their machines.
The aim of the diploma was to develop the concept of a system that will be installed on old machines. The system will use different sensors to read the values and display them on the user interface. Values from sensors will also be save on the database. The values stored in the database will be used to analyse the machine performance on which the system is installed
