The subject of this master's thesis is driving education of young drivers and the effect of driving instructors on road traffic safety and traffic culture. How to handle young drivers and experienced drivers in the field of road traffic safety and how to improve traffic culture? Member states of the European Union already use the GDE matrix (Goals for Driving Education), which is also used in Slovenia.
The first part of the master's thesis defines its problem and goals, then it discusses the GDE matrix and its stages. The next part focuses on driving education of drivers in Slovenia, safe driving and accompanied driving.
I go on to study driving schools, their operations and conditions, both in terms of staff and materials used. I explain what the area and vehicles must be equipped with and list the conditions for driving instructors and regulation instructors, before comparing driving education in Slovenia to some other countries. I also discuss the potential use of simulators.
A working day of a driving instructor is then described; how they start their day as well as what data they must record at the start of the day and driving lesson and what data at the end of the day and driving lesson.
In the end, I present the survey analysis and conclusions of this master's thesis.
