Poetic self-reflection represents how questions connected to poetic writing are treated in poetry. The paper defines forms and semantic-aesthetic functions of poetic self-reflection. An interpretative analysis of Barbara Korun's poetry confirms that poetic self-reflection takes place through auto-thematisation and through other literary strategies. In the analysed poems, the function of poetic self-reflection is to position the poet's role in the literary tradition and society, as well as to reflect on language and the writing process.
