Bike-sharing system is a sustainable form of mobility that acts as an important service for daily journeys, often in combination with public transport and walking. It offers users an easy way of travelling with many positive effects on health and the environment, as it promotes cycling as an alternative to a car and enables efficient transportation even during rush hours. The development of public bike-sharing systems has undergone many changes in recent years, among which was the introduction of electric kick scooters rental. The term Micromobility has become established for new forms of mobility, both public systems and private vehicles. Attractive forms of mobility can further encourage new users to use sustainable mobility. By expanding the accessibility of mobility through Mobility hubs, urban space is used efficiently, so with less space, mobility can be accessed by larger population. Connecting forms of mobility is extremely important, so based on the analysis of the possibility of introducing new public bike-sharing systems, we have prepared key criteria for the successful upgrade of the system in the case of Ljubljana. Intermodal Mobility hubs were recognized as a successful way of coexistence and connection of various forms of mobility, so to help further development of the transport system of the Municipality of Ljubljana we presented the concept of multi-level intermodal mobility hubs, designed a model and defined criteria for establishing Mobility hubs in the city and wider region.
