Children spend a lot of free time on computers and smartphones, so the need for better contact with nature is also observed in education and the formation of school organic farming. Organic farming has become more recognizable and desirable since the foundation of the Organic school gardens program (“ŠEV”) in 2011. As part of the master's thesis, we studied their impact on educational institutions. Based on the survey of organic school gardens mentors and the interviews with mentors, principals, organic farmers and the founder of the Organic school gardens program, we assessed the influence of organic farming on different groups (children, the management of educational institutions, teachers/educators, local community and organic farmers). We also created an application that lists all the educational institutions which had participated in the survey and which also have an organic school garden. The purpose of the application is to popularize the Organic school gardens program and to offer an insight into organic school farming in Slovenia, as well as to connect educational institutions and gain new ideas. Based on data from the survey, we rated the functioning of the Organic school gardens program as positive. Moreover, we provided possibilities for its development in the future.
