Introduction: A mass accident is a sudden and unexpected event with a large number of injured, which cannot be managed with regular or available resources. Natural mass disasters include earthquakes, fires, floods, tsunamis, tornado hurricanes, landslides, volcanic eruptions. Purpose: To define natural mass disasters and the role of the nurse in them, to identify key differences between natural mass disasters according to the method of action and to present in more detail the natural mass disasters that are current in our area. Objectives: To describe the action in the pre-hospital environment in the event of mass disasters with an emphasis on triage and transport, to describe the action in the hospital environment in the case of natural mass disasters and to describe the role of the nurse in natural mass disasters. Methods: A descriptive method of work was used with a review of domestic and foreign literature and with the analysis of professional literature. We searched the literature on the databases ScienceDirekt, PubMed, Medline and Chinal, and on the DiKul portal. 10 keywords were used in the search: mass disaster, earthquake, landslides, volcanic eruptions, floods, tsunami, fire, nursing care, nurse / nurse. 36 units of literature were used. Results: Action in the event of a mass disaster is divided into pre-hospital and hospital action. In the pre-hospital environment, the main role is taken over by emergency medical services, which perform various activities such as triage, care and transport of victims at the scene of the accident. Hospitals prepare to receive a larger number of casualties by activating a contingency plan that requires them to adjust and reorganize their work. Nurses work both in the field and as part of the emergency medical team, as well as in the hospital. Their main task is to observe and monitor the injured and save their lives. Discussion and conclusion: In order to act better in the event of natural disasters, it would be necessary to slightly change the action plan in our area and perhaps adjust it according to the individual disaster, in order to answer the doubts and questions that arise when various disasters occur.
