The present bachelor's thesis, The Role of the Narrative in Constructing Identity, Memory and Ethics in the Philosophy of Richard Kearney, concerns Richard Kearney's monograph On Stories and the influences which have shaped the author's philosophy, thereby also examining that of Kearney's doctoral advisor, Paul Ricoeur, as well as other relevant works and authors. The focal point of this paper, however, is on the work On Stories, part of the trilogy Philosophy at the Limit (Kearney 2005: 139), with special attention being lent to the concepts of identity, memory and ethics, all of which intertwine and interrelate. For the purposes of a more profound consideration of ethics in the scope of storytelling, an analysis of the 2018 film Erased, written and directed by Miha Mazzini, will also be undertaken.
