3D printing technology has brought new options for production of piezoresistive gauges. The technology is relatively new and the research is limited when it comes to electrically conductive materials. The final thesis gives a theoretical definition of the phenomenon of piezoresistivity in different materials and under different types of loads. It also gives a theoretical overview of different mechanisms of piezoresistivity. As part of the final thesis, 3D printing and process parameters that affect the electrical conductivity of polymer composites have been presented. The difference between static and dynamic piezoresistivity has also been presented. Along with the dynamic piezoresistivity of composites, successfully developed concepts of 3D printed accelerometers and their properties have been presented.
