Energy audit represents a key insight into current energy use profile of an industrial plant and includes the identification and evaluation of cost-effective savings option and the reporting of findings. This paper presents a general energy audit of an industrial plant, the further direction of which is focused mainly on the use of electricity which in 2019 amounted to 12.400 MWh and its related costs. In order to reduce costs, economic models for a solar power plant and battery storage system were implemented. We found out that it makes sense to reduce electrical consumption during peak periods, and the installation of a solar power plant with a generating capacity of 813 kW is also justified. The installation of a battery storage system with a capacity of 1 MW and energy of 2 MWh proved to be unjustified, as the battery life is too short, and the return on investment itself strongly depends on the purchase price of electricity.
