The thesis describes the development and implementation of a clothing collection called Volcanic Impact, which was created as part of the accompanying project of the Department of Textile and Clothing Design at the exhibition Coptic Fabric from the National Museum in 2019. The project presented contemporary interpretations of Coptic textiles and clothing.
The theoretical part describes the history of the Copts and their main clothing item - the tunic. I delved into the history of the tunic and described its features. I also mentioned the designers, who also included the tunic in their clothing collections.
The experimental part shows the development of a collection of clothes and details cut on a laser cutter.
The result of the diploma work is a modern fashion collection with a starting point in a Coptic tunic and the artistic expression of volcanic eruptions.
