Slovenian transition (1990-2004) is a part of contemporary, modern history, the study of which has an important impact on society's relationship to its recent history and therefore on its identity and the roles individuals play in it. Slovenian historiographers started studying Slovenian independence and transition more intensely in the first and the second decade of the twenty-first century. The only notable historiographical work from Slovenian historiographers on the theme of Slovenian transition is the work Prelom s starim in začetek novega by historian Aleksander Lorenčič (2012). The study of Slovenian transition also offers a chance for the historiographical society to actually fulfill its task, which is to provide the society with a critical understanding of the past. Too fast conclusions about the age, the role (and course) of which is not yet known in its fullest form and will only show itself with time, pose a danger of studying such a recent theme.
