The diploma deals with decoration in Herod's architecture. The first part describes Herod's coming to power and a brief history of research in the field oh Herodian sites. Second part deals with the corpus of Herod's architecture by categories of purpose of the buildings and the third part discusses the decoration in Herod's architecture. In dealing with architectural decoration, the ephasis is on finding parallels with Roman, Hellenistic and Jewish decoration, and on finding innovations that Herod himself introduced into decoration.
