In this research, I will review the literature for the quantitative determination of proteins in samples of natural origin. Various methods are used for this purpose, from spectrophotometric to chromatographic. The former require a reaction leading to the formation of a colored compound, and chromatographic methods mostly require cleavage to amino acids. Among the protein additives in paper, we find exclusively gelatin, as an additive that makes the surface hydrophobic. If conditions allow, I will perform an analysis of the gelatin content in samples of Tibetan origin.
