In the diploma thesis the concept of digital collage photography in interaction with painting has been researched. Therefore, collage, its origin, evolution throughout history of art and its computer application through image digitalisation. The research has shown, that the collage technique has been developed from Cubism, its inventors were Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. Later on, in 1990, Adobe has developed a software named Photoshop and furthermore in 1994 in the third version (3.0 ver) of the software the possibility of using layers was implemented, which is nowadays considered as a contemporary alternative of the collage technique. For the empirical part, the work was done in the photographic studio, which included using digital single-lens reflect cameras, different kinds of lenses, lightnings, wallpapers, tripods and many other studio equipment. For the photo shooting, stylists, make-up artists and hair-stylists were engaged for the appropriate preparation of, photo models. In the follow-up post-production procedure, raster image processing software was applied using Adobe Lightroom 5.5 and Adobe Photoshop CC. Wacom tablet has been used for images painting. After the opus has been completed, morphologic and iconographic analysis were made and the images were printed on canvas and put in appropriate frames.
