Even though it represents a growing industry; forest tourism is still a relatively poorly established concept in Slovenia and around the world. Due to the growing interest in this type of tourism, it is necessary to plan and regulate activities in cooperation with associates to prevent conflicts and environmental degradation of the forest ecosystem.
By example of Solčava, which is already a well-developed tourist area, we researched with what kind of conflicts and impediments associates face in the process of implementing tourist activities in the forest. We focused on established practices, as well as the new ones, that have yet to become a constant. Through interviews with some associates and an in-depth analysis of the current state of forest tourism, we evaluated the already existing activities and made proposals for new ones. In doing so, we followed the guideline that we proposed.
We conclude our thesis with a suggestion for an innovative and wholesome eco-tourism product.
