The tourism industry which has been growing extremely fast for decades has become one of the world’s largest economic sectors. Clearly, tourism enables many positive effects. However, many negative consequences have also emerged along with the extremely rapid development of tourism and the growing number of tourists. This has encouraged the development of new forms of tourism based on sustainable principles. One such form of tourist services is glamping or glamorous camping. In my bachelor’s thesis, I researched the relationship between glamping services and the concept of sustainable development. For the research, I used the qualitative approach of data collection and conducted semi-structured interviews with four providers of glamping services in Slovenia. Through interviews, I was ascertaining whether the providers understand the key concepts related to sustainability and whether glamping services actually contribute or to what extent they contribute to sustainable development in tourism. The research showed that the providers are well acquainted with the key concepts and that they also successfully implement them in glamping services. The providers represent good examples of sustainable business. Their glamping services pursue the principles of sustainable development.
