The master's thesis deals with the anti-alcohol struggle that took place in Slovenian schools in the first decades of the 20th century up to the start of World War II. The first chapter presents the perception and attitude towards alcohol in the aforementioned period, outlining the ubiquity of alcohol and presenting the beverages that were most often consumed in Slovenia. The next section shows the consequences attributed to (excessive) alcohol consumption. In the central part, examples of anti-alcohol struggle are presented. The reader can get acquainted with the statistics of alcohol consumption among Slovenian youth, as well as other problems that plagued teachers in their anti-alcohol work. The rest of the chapter describes instructions for teachers and school management, as well as examples of integrating anti-alcohol topics into various school subjects. The next chapter presents the anti-alcohol literature that educators (may) have used in the classroom. In addition to anti-alcohol manuals for teachers, three examples of central prohibition newsletters published in Slovenia are presented. Later on examples of selected anti-alcohol stories that have been published in the various sources discussed are summarized. A special subchapter also focuses on anti-alcoholic songs, which are divided into special content sections for ease of presentation. At the end of the master's thesis, a summary of the findings is given, followed by an indication of all used sources and literature.
